KATHMANDU, July 11: Former Supreme Court Justice Balaram KC has signed the petition in support of Rabi Lamichhane. As part of the signature campaign initiated by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in support of its party president Lamichhane, KC visited the party's central office in Banasthali on Thursday and signed the petition.

KC stated that Lamichhane is innocent. “An innocent person shouldn’t be imprisoned even for a minute. Earlier, there was the people’s court; now there is only the state’s court,” he said.

“I was a judge; now I am not. Once retired, a judge becomes an ordinary citizen. The rights an ordinary citizen has are the same as those of a retired judge.”

The RSP has claimed that the state has taken ‘political revenge’ against Lamichhane, who is also a former Home Minister. The party has launched the signature campaign in protest.
