KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The US dollar is holding its ground as Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) kept Monday’s exchange rate unchanged from Sunday. The greenback remains firm at Rs. 139.96 for buying and Rs. 140.56 for selling on Monday.
Among the European currencies, the Euro stands at Rs. 162.91 (buying) and Rs. 163.61 (selling), while the British pound maintains its strength at Rs. 188.25 and Rs. 189.06. The Swiss franc hovers at Rs. 173.19 and Rs. 173.93.
Similarly, the Australian dollar trades at Rs. 91.34 and Rs. 91.74, with the Canadian dollar at Rs. 101.73 and Rs. 102.17. Singapore’s dollar is pegged at Rs. 108.88 for buying and Rs. 109.35 for selling.
Forex Update: Dollar holds its ground as global currencies sway
In Asia, 10 Japanese yen are priced at Rs. 9.47 and Rs. 9.51, while the Chinese yuan trades at Rs. 19.48 and Rs. 19.57. The Saudi riyal fetches Rs. 37.29 and Rs. 37.45, and the Qatari riyal stands at Rs. 38.40 and Rs. 38.56.
Other notable rates include the Thai baht at Rs. 4.33 and Rs. 4.35, the UAE dirham at Rs. 38.11 and Rs. 38.27, and the Malaysian ringgit at Rs. 33.01 and Rs. 33.15. The South Korean won (per 100) trades at Rs. 10.08 and Rs. 10.12, the Swedish krona at Rs. 14.61 and Rs. 14.67, and the Danish krone at Rs. 21.83 and Rs. 21.92.
Among Gulf currencies, the Hong Kong dollar stands at Rs. 17.83 and Rs. 17.91, the Kuwaiti dinar at a towering Rs. 458.21 and Rs. 460.17, the Bahraini dinar at Rs. 371.25 and Rs. 372.84, and the Omani riyal at Rs. 364.01 and Rs. 365.57.
Meanwhile, the Indian rupee remains unchanged, with 100 INR valued at Rs. 160.00 for buying and Rs. 160.15 for selling.
