KATHMANDU, April 10: The country's foreign exchange reserves have reached Rs 2.49 trillion.
According to the financial statements for the eight months of the current fiscal year released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), such reserves have increased by 18 percent compared to mid-July of 2023/24.

In US dollars, they have increased by 13.1 percent, where such reserves have reached 17.27 billion in dollars.
According to the NRB, based on the imports for the eight months of the fiscal year 2024/25, the foreign exchange reserves with the banking sector are sufficient to cover 17.2 months of goods imports and 14.3 months of goods and services imports.
Similarly, remittance inflow has risen by 9.4 percent in eight months, reaching Rs 1.51 trillion. In the same period last year, remittance inflow had increased by 18.3 percent.
