KATHMANDU, July 8: The persistent rainfall in China has triggered a flood in the Bhotekoshi River, sweeping away the Nepal-China connecting Miteri Bridge at Rasuwagadhi, Rasuwa.



According to the National Disaster Reduction and Management Authority, the Miteri bridge that connects Nepal and China at Rasuwagadhi in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality of Rasuwa District was swept away by the flood at around 3:15 am today (Tuesday).

Similarly, at around 4:00 am, floodwaters entered the customs yard in Timure of the same ward, washing away several cargo containers.


As of now, no human casualties have been reported, the authority confirmed.


With the water level still rising, residents in the downstream areas have been alerted to remain vigilant.
