Flood hits Lhende stream again; Authorities urge caution along Trishuli Riverine

KATHMANDU, July 30: A massive flood has once again occurred in the Lhende stream, which flows from China's Tibet region.



According to the District Administration Office, Rasuwa, the flood has inundated Uttargaya Dham, located on the border of Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts.

Druba Prasad Adhikari, Assistant Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, said that since the water level has not receded, there is a risk of damage, and a public alert has been issued. So far, no casualties have been reported, he added.


With the water level remaining high, authorities have urged residents living near the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli riverbanks in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts to stay alert.


Earlier, on July 8, a flood in the Lhende stream had caused significant loss of lives and property, claiming at least 19 lives.
