MUGU, Sept 22: Nepal Airlines resumed flights to Rara Airport on Monday after a gap of four months. The state-owned airline had previously been operating three flights a week until last Baisakh (mid-April).
Locals of Mugu said the regular flights had been a relief, but the suspension had created difficulties for both tourists visiting Rara Lake—Nepal’s largest lake—and other travelers.

Nabin Kumar Bista, head of Nepal Airlines’ Rara Airport office, said flights have now resumed and efforts will be made to ensure regular services.
Passenger Sumitra Rawal, who was traveling to Nepalgunj for medical treatment, said, “If flights operate regularly, it will be a big relief for people living in remote areas.”
Rara Airport has been served by Nepal Airlines, Summit Air, Tara Air and Sita Air.
