JHAPA, June 30: A fire broke out at a furniture factory in Arjundhara Municipality–11, Buspark area, late last night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Jhapa, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in a tin-roofed single-story house belonging to Moti Bahadur Khadka, where the Khadka Furniture Factory was being operated. The estimated damage is around Rs 1.2 million.

The fire was brought under control with the help of the fire engine from Birtamod Municipality, local residents and police. Machines and timber inside the factory, including a wood-cutting machine, were completely destroyed in the fire.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
