Finance Ministry mandates electronic payments for all public institutions from new FY

The circular has been sent to all ministries, Nepal Rastra Bank, public institutions, boards, committees, and authorities.

KATHMANDU, July 14: The Ministry of Finance has issued a directive requiring all public sector payments to be made exclusively through electronic systems starting from 17 July, 2025.

This move follows the announcement made in the fiscal year 2025/26 budget statement. The directive was issued based on a ministerial-level decision made by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on July 11.


With this, all forms of payments from public entities must now be processed digitally from the beginning of the new fiscal year.
