Finance ministry maintains hotline and direct email services to file complaints against corruption

Ministry of Finance (MoF) in a bid to check the corruption cases within its employees, has provided direct access to general people to file complaints against the irregularities to take place within the ministry.

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Ministry of Finance (MoF) in a bid to check the corruption cases within its employees, has provided direct access to general people to file complaints against the irregularities to take place within the ministry.



According to the MoF, service seekers can file complaints directly if any employee of the ministry dilly dallies unnecessarily in public service deliveries or exerts pressure for improper work, asks for a bribe or kickback. “If employees of bodies related to the MoF ask for a bribe, people can now inform the ministry directly.”

The MoF has urged sufferers to email directly at rameshore@mof.gov.np, the personal email ID of Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal. The service seekers can also send information to the ministry's email gunaso@mof.gov.np and hotline 18105000401.


The MoF says it has appointed Under-secretary Niran Bhattarai and Branch Officer Pavitra Gyawali as the contact persons to take grievances. The implementation of the measure is expected to make government services more transparent and accountable.
