GANDAKI, July 25:: A delegation of Hotel Association Pokhara, Nepal held separate meetings with Finance Minister and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nepal on Thursday and sought their support in regular operation of Pokhara International Airport.
The delegation urged Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel to take initiatives for direct flight at Pokhara International Airport from different cities of India before the upcoming India visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Paudel pledged support for the operation of the international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports, according to Bharat Raj Parajuli, Coordinator of the Advisory Council of Hotel Association Pokhara.
The Finance Minister shared that foundation stone for Nayapul-Hemja tunnel route would be laid soon and detailed project report of the route was already prepared along with allocation of budget in the current fiscal year for the same.
The delegation further requested the Finance Minister to accelerate construction of Narayangadh-Butwal road and Pokhara-Muglin road.
Similarly, meeting Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nepal, Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Alshamsi, the delegation urged him to take initiative from his side to conduct direct flights from Pokhara to UAE.
On the occasion, the Ambassador assured of talking with Fly Dubai for the same, shared President of Hotel Association Pokhara, Laxman Subedi. The Ambassador was positive to promote tourism of Pokhara and bring in investment in tourism sector of Pokhara from UAE, he added.
