KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel returned to his regular duties at the Ministry of Finance today.
Minister Paudel had sustained injuries in a balloon explosion during the official announcement of the Visit Nepal Year 2025 event organized by Pokhara Metropolitan City on February 15. After two days of intensive treatment at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur, he was discharged. Since then, he has been handling urgent matters from his residence.

Minister Paudel and Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya have been airlifted to Kirtipur Burn Hospital to receive treatment for the injuries they sustained after a cluster of hydrogen-filled balloons they were supposed to release amid the program at Pokhara caught fire.
