KATHMANDU, May 3: The fifth edition of the Nepal E-Sports Championship has officially commenced. Organized by the Nepal E-Sports Association (NESA), this year’s tournament serves as a national qualifier for the prestigious World E-Sports Championship, hosted annually by the International E-Sports Federation (IESF).
NESA President Suraj Dangol stated that top-performing players from this tournament will earn a chance to represent Nepal in the regional selection rounds for the global championship. Those advancing through the regional qualifiers will secure their spots in the World E-Sports Championship finals.
NCC signs MoU to support major esports events

The main events of the Nepal E-Sports Championship are scheduled for the first week of May. The competition will feature six game categories: eFootball, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2 (CST2), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Open Division, MLBB Women’s Division, and PUBG Mobile.
According to Dangol, the championship not only aims to hunt talent for the international stage but also to elevate the country’s growing e-sports scene. “This competition will showcase the talent, dedication, and sportsmanship of Nepali e-sports players on the global stage. It is a milestone in the development of e-sports in Nepal,” he said.
The preliminary rounds of the championship have already been completed, and players are now preparing for intense competition in the upcoming national finals.
