KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The federal government is set to honor six local levels that have delivered exceptional results.
According to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), the recognition program will be held on August 22, where the results of the Local Level Institutional Capacity Self-Assessment (LISA) for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS will be officially announced, and the best-performing local governments will be honored.

The MoFAGA stated that the Local Level Institutional Capacity Self-Assessment for FY 2080/81 BS has undergone quality testing. The objective of this assessment is to review the processes and achievements of municipalities and rural municipalities, identify areas for improvement in governance and development management, provide a basis for periodic reviews, and promote a spirit of healthy competition among local governments.
Based on this evaluation, the final results of the self-assessment will be made public, and the municipalities and rural municipalities with the highest scores nationwide will be honored.
This year, the ministry will honor Khairahani Municipality (Chitwan), Tilottama Municipality (Rupandehi), Nilkantha Municipality (Dhading), Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality (Syangja), Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality (Dhading), and Rurukshetra Rural Municipality (Gulmi).
The ministry has further announced that Bhagwati Neupane will attend the ceremony, where the top-performing local governments will be awarded, and the Local Governance Performance Evaluation System will also be officially launched.
