ARGHAKHANCHI, July 15: An elderly couple died after being buried by a landslide at Dhanchaur Tallopaku of Bhumikaistha Municipality-10 of Arghakhanchi district on Tuesday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Arghakhanchi, the deceased have been identified as Govinda Budamagar, 66, and his wife, Shyamkala Budamagar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chakra Bahadur Malla reported that the couple had gone to their farmland at Roja Tusarepani in the area to collect cattle fodder and gather Cheuri, also known as the butter tree. Unfortunately, they were struck by a dry landslide by accident.
The incident came to light after the dead bodies of the couple were found after a search operation carried out by the local police with the support of residents, informed DSP Malla.
According to the police, the elderly succumbed to the serious injuries caused by the rockfall and other mudslides during the landslide.
