ECDC holds meeting with political parties

KATHMANDU, July 1: The Electoral Constituency Delineation Commission (ECDC) held an interaction with 17 political parties represented in the then Constituent Assembly at its office in New Baneswor on Monday.[break]



Matters relating to the jurisdiction of the Commission, its mandate and Articles 63 and 154 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal were discussed at the programme.[break]



On the occasion, Commission Chairman Tahir Ali Ansari thanked the political parties for their important contribution and pledged to work as per the norms and spirit of the constitution.



Commission Spokesperson Tek Prasad Dhungana made a presentation on the national and international experience and standards of electoral constitution delimitation.



The parties taking part in the interaction today were among other UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), Tara Madhesh Democratic Party, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Communist Party of Nepal (ML) and CPN (United).



The Commission is to continue discussion with other political parties as well. Accordingly, interaction is being held with 17 others parties tomorrow, according to the Commission.
