East-West Highway comes to a halt after road caves in at Daunne

According to the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office in Butwal, the road caved in around 5:55 a.m. on Wednesday due to continuous rainfall that loosened the soil, disrupting traffic in both directions.

NAWALPARASI, July 9: The East-West Highway has been completely blocked after a section of the road sank near Khursani Khola in Bardaghat Municipality-4, Daunne forest area.

According to the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office in Butwal, the road caved in around 5:55 a.m. on Wednesday due to continuous rainfall that loosened the soil, disrupting traffic in both directions.


Efforts are underway to reopen the road in coordination with the Road Division Office. Meanwhile, vehicles traveling to and from Kathmandu have been halted.
