Women members elected include Manju Aryal Khatiwada, Laxmi Karki Khadka, and Goma Baral. Other members are Amrit Narayan Manandhar, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, Laxmi Prasad Kuinkel, Vidur Prasad Bhattarai, Nawaraj Kafle, Vidur Raj Upreti, and Ishwar Lama.
A program was held to thank delegates and the election official for completing the process without dispute.
Speaking on the occasion, president Dotel said the election was conducted promptly after a directive from the Red Cross central office to avoid the risk of the branch becoming inactive or requiring an ad hoc committee. “Since we came here to serve society, holding the election smoothly is more important than the positions themselves,” he said.
Dotel pledged to lead through consensus and cooperation, adding that the new committee was not caught up in “unnecessary criticism.” He highlighted the branch’s recent project of constructing a school building in Bajhang, saying it created a better classroom environment for students. “The name of Kathmandu District Red Cross will always remain there,” he noted, stressing unity to keep the organization free from external pressure.
He also urged members to continue prioritizing humanitarian service and extended greetings on the occasion of Haritalika Teej.
