KATHMANDU, May 5: The Department of Commerce, Supply, and Consumer Protection (DoCSCP) has imposed fines totaling Rs 625,000 on four business firms after finding alterations in the prices and measurements of goods.
According to the DoCSCP, JJ Exim Private Limited, located in Taudaha, was fined Rs 205,000 after it was found that the quality, quantity, price, and measurements of food items, including dried fruits, had been altered during relabeling. The company has also been instructed to appear before the DoCSCP with the necessary documents within three days.

Similarly, Manik Ganga Enterprises, located in Swoyambhu, was fined Rs 205,000 for engaging in relabeling and altering the quality, quantity, price, and measurements of goods. The company has also been ordered to appear at the department with the required documents within three days.
In the same investigation, United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd. (Auto Parts), located in Dhumbarahi, was fined Rs 200,000. Additionally, Shree Pa Store, a liquor and tobacco shop, was fined Rs 15,000 for failing to cooperate with the DoCSCP during inspection.
The DoCSCP’s inspection team conducted checks at nine business firms and brought them under the scope of regulatory action.
