KATHMANDU, Sep 16: The health condition of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who was assaulted by an angry mob during the Gen Z protests on September 9, is slowly improving, although he still remains under treatment.
Hundreds of protesters, enraged by the death of 19 Gen Z demonstrators on September 8, had surrounded his residence in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu and attacked Deuba and his wife, Arzu Rana.

As the crowd swelled and turned increasingly aggressive, security forces were forced to retreat. The Nepali Army (NA) attempted to evacuate the couple by helicopter, but abandoned the effort after protesters attacked the aircraft.
They were later evacuated to the Army Hospital in an Army vehicle.
Currently, Deuba, 82, and his wife are undergoing treatment at the Army’s Staff College in Shivapuri, according to NC leader Min Bishwakarma.
