Detainee escapes from Kathmandu Police Range

The escapee, identified as 24-year-old Nishan Pariyar of Dolakha, fled shortly after being brought back to the Range following a remand extension granted by the Kathmandu District Court.

KATHMANDU, May 21: A detainee managed to escape from the gate of the District Police Range in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu, on Wednesday afternoon.

The escapee, identified as 24-year-old Nishan Pariyar of Dolakha, fled shortly after being brought back to the Range following a remand extension granted by the Kathmandu District Court. He had been in custody for the past seven days under investigation for alleged indecent behavior.


Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohora said a search operation is underway to locate Pariyar. The court had approved a five-day extension for his detention as part of the ongoing investigation.
