KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The country’s monsoon system has weakened, with only light influence from local winds, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This afternoon, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy over Koshi Province and the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy conditions. The MFD forecasts moderate rainfall in some areas of Koshi, a few hilly locations elsewhere and at one or two places across the Terai.
Tonight, the weather is likely to turn partly cloudy across Koshi and other hilly regions, and mainly fair to partly cloudy in the remaining provinces. However, the MFD warns of moderate rain in parts of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, with a chance of heavy downpours at isolated spots in the hills of Koshi and Bagmati.
