KATHMANDU, July 14: In a sweeping outcome on Monday, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) suffered a disastrous loss of 35.09 points to close at 2,725.71, just on the following day of a significant rise of 29 points as an impact of the monetary policy 2025/26.
The secondary market opened at 2,760.80 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,765.91 points in the first 20 minutes. However, the index went downhill and hit as low as 2,724.84 points in the last 16 minutes before the market closed for the day.

Only hydropower added 5.32 points in its market index. Of the 12 losers, life insurance and non-life insurance shed the highest of 181.53 points and 132.32 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, shed 6.83 points. The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 8.17 billion, plunging heavily from Rs 11.41 billion on Sunday.
Among the individual companies, 50 were gainers while 198 were recorded as the losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 408.85 million.
Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited with a decline of 4.46 percent was recorded as the highest loser. Mai Khola Hydropower Limited added the highest of 5.90 percent of its market value.
