Daily turnover increases to Rs 7.45 billion as NEPSE surges 22.04 points

KATHMANDU, July 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) gained 22.04 points to close at 2,705.90 points on Wednesday.



The secondary market opened at 2,683.86 points, while it witnessed a major surge of a 17-point gain in its index in the first hour of trading. The market stayed almost stable for the next two hours. It increased additional five points in the remaining time of the four-hour trading period.

Two groups, including finance and mutual funds, were the losers. Of the 11 gaining groups, the index of manufacturing and processing went up by the highest of 68.12 points.


The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased a notable 4.76 points. The daily turnover amount inclined to Rs 7.45 billion from Rs 6.57 billion on Tuesday.


Among the individual companies, 199 were gainers while 49 were recorded as the losers. Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 467.14 million.


Barun Hydropower Co Ltd gained the largest of 6.21 percent of its market value. Green Development Bank, with a decline of 4.41 percent, was recorded as the highest loser.
