KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plunged 31.17 points to close at 2,749.83 points.
The market opened at 2,781.00 points and went to the straight fall almost throughout the trading period. The index fell to the day’s low at 2,746.38 points in the last 17 minutes of trading hours. The market recovered only around three points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

All the 13 groups were the losers. Non-life insurance and life insurance shed the highest of 142.44 points and 131.48 points, respectively.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 5.03 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 6.06 billion from Rs 8.09 billion on Thursday, the last trading day of the last week.
Among the individual companies, 21 were gainers while 228 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 454.64 million.
Global IME Sammunat Yojana-2 was the topmost loser. Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited with adding 6.77 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest gainer.
