KATHMANDU, Sep 5: The Second Statute Convention of the CPN-UML commenced on Friday in Godavari, Lalitpur, with party Chairman KP Sharma Oli presenting a political report.
Other leaders are scheduled to table their respective reports following Oli's presentation. The convention will deliberate on party leadership, formation of committees, potential unification with like-minded political forces, organizational strengthening, and governance issues, among other agendas.

Volunteers have been managing and facilitating the movement of delegates, observers, and others attending the convention, from the main road of Godavari in Lalitpur up to the entrance of the convention hall.
Inside the hall, chairs have been arranged in front of a large digital board for 18 office bearers. The stage has been decorated with the party flag and the national flag on both sides. Smaller digital boards in the Tundal (traditional roofing) style have been placed on the right and left of the stage. In addition, portraits of the deceased communist leaders Pushpalal, Manmohan Adhikari, and Madan Bhandari are displayed on the left side of the stage, while portraits of Karl Marx, and Lenin are displayed on the right.
Today’s convention will feature the presentation of the political report along with various documents and a statute amendment proposal. According to the UML Publicity and Publication Department, a total of 2,341 people are participating in the convention, including 2,026 delegates and 315 organizers.
The slogan for convention is, “Building a decisive national force is our commitment, and a prosperous Nepal with happy Nepalis is our national destination.”
