Continuous rain raises flood risk in Melamchi, Indrawati rivers

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has warned of rising flood risks in the Melamchi and Indrawati watersheds of Sindhupalchok after continuous rainfall since early Sunday morning.

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has warned of rising flood risks in the Melamchi and Indrawati watersheds of Sindhupalchok after continuous rainfall since early Sunday morning.

According to the DHM, the region has received uninterrupted rainfall for the past six hours, increasing the likelihood of floods in Melamchi, Indrawati and their tributaries, as well as landslides in steep areas. Authorities have urged residents to remain alert.
