Lawmakers call for effective disaster early warning system

He said that the early warning notice system has helped reduce humanitarian loss even in the case of heavy rain.
A massive loss of human lives was recorded in the recent flooding that occurred in Rasuwa due to lack of notice of early warning, while the cloudburst that occurred in Kanchanpur district last year could not cause humanitarian loss thanks to the early warning system, the Home Minister said.
On the occasion, the participants pointed out the need for proactive roles of all three levels of government to avert the monsoon-induced disasters.
