KATHMANDU, April 4: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, expressing dissatisfaction with two decisions made by the Special Court.
The CIAA filed a case against Ravindra Prasad Baral, an associate professor at Pokhara University. The Special Court issued its decision on the case on February 25, 2024. Dissatisfied with the ruling, the CIAA appealed to the Supreme Court on Thursday.

Similarly, the CIAA appealed to the Supreme Court on Thursday, expressing dissatisfaction with the Special Court's decision regarding the former Chief Administrative Officer of Manhari Rural Municipality, Devaraj Chaulagain, and Engineer Amit Kumar Thakur. The Special Court had found corruption in the road upgrading project of Lothar Hanglang Phaaribhang Road in Ward No. 6 of Manhari Rural Municipality. The commission had claimed compensation of Rs 391,929.
The Special Court issued its decision on the case on September 15, 2024. After the decision did not align with the commission's claim, the CIAA filed an appeal on Thursday regarding both cases, as confirmed by spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel.
