Chinese national caught with Rs 14.4 million cash in Kathmandu

According to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, a joint team from the office and Boudha Police Circle raided the location around 10 pm on Sunday following a tip-off about suspicious financial activities.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Police have arrested a Chinese national in possession of Rs 14.4 million in cash of undisclosed source from a rented room in Boudha, Kathmandu.



According to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, a joint team from the office and Boudha Police Circle raided the location around 10 pm on Sunday following a tip-off about suspicious financial activities.

The arrested individual has been identified as 40-year-old Wang Jian, a Chinese citizen currently residing in Swayambhu. During the operation, police recovered the large sum of cash from his possession.


Police said they have taken Wang into custody for further investigation to determine the source of the money.
