KATHMANDU, July 8: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has called for effective rescue and relief efforts for those affected by the massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River this morning.
Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, Chairman Dahal expressed deep sorrow over the damage caused by the flood, mentioning that many important infrastructures, including the Miteri Bridge connecting Nepal and China, have suffered severe damage. He said, “In this difficult situation caused by a natural disaster, I strongly urge the government to immediately and effectively mobilize all mechanisms for rescue and relief efforts.”

Chairman Dahal has also directed his party’s leaders and cadres at all levels of the party to actively participate in rescue and relief efforts. He further pointed out the need for the government to adopt high-level vigilance and take concrete steps for disaster risk reduction, given that meteorologists have warned of above-average rainfall this year.
He said, “I appeal to all government bodies, political parties, organizations and citizens to come together and act in unity during this time of crisis.”
