KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Nepal’s leading private airline, Buddha Air, is resuming direct flights to Kolkata from October 19.
The Kathmandu–Kolkata service will operate three times a week i.e. on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, using a 72-seater ATR-72 aircraft. Flights will depart from Kathmandu at 7:00 AM and return from Kolkata at 9:20 AM local time. The flight duration is about 1 hour 35 minutes.
Buddha air to resume Kolkata flights by mid-July

Introductory fares start at Rs 13,353 for a one-way ticket, with the maximum fare going up to Rs 31,200, according to travel agencies. Bookings are now open both online and through offices.
Buddha Holidays, the airline’s sister company, has also rolled out religious and tour packages covering Jagannath Puri, Sundarbans, and Gangasagar near Kolkata, as well as inbound packages for Indian tourists to Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini.
Buddha Air had launched the Kolkata route in 2019 but discontinued it due to low passenger demand. The airline says this relaunch comes with a stronger strategy focused on religious tourism and market demand.
Currently, Buddha Air also operates three weekly flights on the Kathmandu–Varanasi route and plans to expand connectivity to more Indian cities.
