Body recovered at Koteshwor Bhatbhateni, Gen-Z protest death toll climbs to 74

According to SP Apilraj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office, the body was found on Wednesday in a completely burned state and remains unidentified.

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: A charred body has been recovered from the Koteshwor branch of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, which was set ablaze and vandalised during the Gen-Z protests on September 9.



According to SP Apilraj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office, the body was found on Wednesday in a completely burned state and remains unidentified.

The latest discovery has pushed the confirmed death toll from the Gen-Z protests to 74. Earlier, 73 fatalities had been verified.


Earlier, police had recovered seven charred bodies from the Chucchepati branch of Bhatbhateni. Those skeletal remains, also yet to be identified, are currently kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
