Body of Nepali worker who died in South Korea brought home

Chaudhary had been in a coma for one and a half months at a hospital in Busan before passing away last Monday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The body of Kamal Chaudhary, a resident of Belha in Chaudandigadhi-5, Udayapur, who died in South Korea, has been repatriated to Nepal.



His mortal remains arrived in Kathmandu on a Qatar Airways flight and were handed over to his family at Tribhuvan International Airport. The Foreign Employment Board arranged a vehicle to transport the body to his hometown.

Chaudhary had been in a coma for one and a half months at a hospital in Busan before passing away last Monday. He had gone to South Korea under the EPS program but had been living outside his company at the time.


According to family sources, he collapsed suddenly while staying at a shelter in search of work and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died during treatment. His medical expenses amounted to around Rs 1.7 million.
