KATHMANDU, May 17: The Birgunj Customs Office has collected revenue of Rs 140.42 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2024/25. This amounts to 64.13 percent of its total annual revenue target for the year.
The Chief Customs Officer of the office, Deepak Lamichhane, stated that revenue collection has been increasing in the current fiscal year.
Birgunj Customs collects Rs 236.31 billion as revenue

According to the Customs Office, Rs 12.15 billion was collected in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), followed by Rs 13.42 billion in Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), Rs 13.47 billion in Ashwin (mid-September to mid-October), Rs 11.10 billion in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), Rs 14.40 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December), Rs 15.47 billion in Poush (mid-December to mid-January (Poush), and Rs 14.44 billion Magh (mid-January to mid-February).
Similarly, the office collected Rs 14.63 billion in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March), Rs 15.47 billion in Chaitra (midMarch to mid-April) and Rs 15.72 billion in Baishakh (midApril to mid-May).
The Department of Customs has set an annual revenue collection target of Rs 218.95 billion for the office in the current fiscal year.
