Bhojpur Murder Case: Bodies of four sent to Dharan for forensic test

From the preliminary police investigation, it has been revealed that they had a love marriage nine months ago. However, their inter-caste marriage was not accepted by society or their families. Following this rejection, Rajendra is said to have killed the entire family.

KATHMANDU, July 7: The bodies of four individuals killed in Bhojpur’s Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality-2, Dhodlekhani, have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan for forensic examination.



The bodies, brought to the district hospital on Sunday, had to be sent to Dharan due to a lack of forensic testing equipment. Rajendra Rai, 30, of Bhojpur Municipality-2, allegedly murdered his 16-year-old wife Manisha Giri, 68-year-old father-in-law Bel Bahadur Giri, 45-year-old mother-in-law Manju Giri, and 9-year-old brother-in-law Sapan Giri. The accused, who was also injured, is currently undergoing treatment in Dharan.

As the deceased family was in poor financial condition, the secretariat of Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality raised funds and handed the collected amount over to the victims' family. The Rural municipality’s chairperson, Thambahadur Rai, handed over a total of Rs 114,871 to the victims’ relatives. He said that the municipal executive committee would also provide additional assistance.


On Saturday night, the son-in-law allegedly murdered four members of the same family.
