Bajura jeep accident: Injured airlifted to Nepalgunj for treatment

Two individuals, who sustained injuries in a jeep accident in Jagannath Rural Municipality-2, Bajura, have been airlifted by a Nepal Army helicopter to Nepalgunj Medical College for further treatment.

BAJURA, May 28: Two individuals, who sustained injuries in a jeep accident in Jagannath Rural Municipality-2, Bajura, have been airlifted by a Nepal Army helicopter to Nepalgunj Medical College for further treatment.



Nanda Ram Tiruwa and Lokendra Tiruwa of Budhinanda Municipality-2 were referred from Kolti Hospital due to the severity of their injuries.

The accident occurred while a jeep (Ba 5 Cha 2209) from Nepal Telecom’s Attariya office was transporting batteries to replace those at a telecom tower.


According to police, three people died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Lok Bahadur Khadka, 55, head of the Nepal Telecom office in Bajura, originally from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City; the jeep driver,  Karan Mahatara, 40; and Rabindra Dhami, 28, from of Badimalika Municipality-7.


According to local resident Deepak Karki, the vehicle plunged nearly 500 meters down from the road.
