Baburam Bhattarai supports signature campaign for Rabi Lamichhane

The second largest opposition party has continued its signature campaign since June 21. Bhattarai contributed his signature to the campaign by visiting the central office of the RSP at Banasthali on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Former Prime Minister.Baburam Bhattarai has expressed solidarity with the signature campaign launched by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in support of its currently detained chairperson Rabi Lamichhane.



The second largest opposition party has continued its signature campaign since June 21. Bhattarai contributed his signature to the campaign by visiting the central office of the RSP at Banasthali on Saturday.

Lamichhane, a former deputy prime minister and home minister, is currently in jail. The RSP has called his dentention a "political vengeance". The party has started collecting signatures against his judicial custody.


Lamichhane had released a 20-page document from police custody on June 21 on the occasion of the party's third foundation day. There he proposed about collecting signatures in his solidarity. Accordingly, the RSP is currently collecting signatures from the general public.
