KATHMANDU, July 4: The Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) has seized clothes worth Rs. 1.85 million illegally imported with customs evasion in Birgunj.
Acting on a special tip-off, the APF raided several houses in Birgunj Metropolitan City-1, specifically in Chhapkaiya and Nadiya Tole, where the clothes were concealed.

A joint team from the APF No. 13 Battalion Headquarters in Parsa and the Birgunj Customs Office conducted the raid.
According to Devendra Bahadur Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Information Officer of the battalion, the clothes were smuggled from India and were about to be reshipped.
“The smuggling group had evaded customs and stored the clothes in local houses,” DSP Singh said, “Based on the information received, we immediately took action.”
All the seized clothes have been handed over to the Birgunj Customs Office for further investigation and legal proceedings, DSP Singh added.
