KATHMANDU, July 17: Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi has granted pardon to four individuals accused of attacking him.
The incident occurred on January 15 outside the premises of the Kathmandu District Court (KDC), shortly after Tripathi had defended victims of a cooperative scam. On Wednesday, appearing before the bench of KDC Judge Shishir Raj Dhakal to give his statement, Tripathi declared in court that he forgave the attackers.

Following his statement, the court acquitted all four defendants in the attempted murder case. The accused—Lalit Kumar KC, Mahananda Jaisi, Sita Devi Rai, and Deepak Ale—had previously been released on bail of Rs 100,000 each.
Tripathi had been assaulted following his legal argument on behalf of victims in the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case. The attack allegedly involved supporters of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
In the court, Tripathi stated that the attackers had been manipulated and misled by others, saying, "Those who carried out the brutal assault against me were mere instruments operated and misguided by others. They had lost their sense of judgment and were not acting out of their own free will. Therefore, I have decided to forgive them without holding any resentment in my heart, mind, or memory."
As Tripathi withdrew his claims, the court issued a verdict accordingly, granting full acquittal to all four defendants.
