TIKAPUR, July 1: An 80-year-old woman was found brutally murdered inside her home in Amarawati, of Janaki Rural Municipality-9, Kailali. The victim, Matadevi Shahi, who had been living alone, was discovered dead inside her two-storey house.
According to DSP Nabin Raja Budhathoki, chief of the Area Police Office, Tikapur, preliminary investigations show that Shahi was killed with a sharp weapon. Her body was found today on a bed on the upper floor of her home with severe injuries to her head, neck, and chest.

Preparations for a post-mortem are underway, said DSP Budhathoki.
Police reported that one of her sons lives in Kathmandu while the other resides in Tikapur.
Upon receiving the information, police deployed for investigation have taken one suspect into custody. However, as interrogation is still ongoing, no further details have been disclosed at this time.
