41 individuals arrested on charges of setting fire to a house in Tinkune (With Names)

KATHMANDU, March 31: The police arrested 41 individuals involved in the violent protest that broke out in Tinkune on March 28 in Kathmandu.



They arrested the suspects from various locations in Kathmandu on charges of deliberately setting fire to a house where a journalist was reporting.

In the Tinkune incident, Avenues journalist Suresh Rajak lost his life while reporting inside the house that was set on fire.


After obtaining a five-day custody extension from the Kathmandu District Court, the police started investigating the arrested individuals. They face investigations on charges of organized crime, arson, looting, and attempted murder.


The police have kept Suresh's body at the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. His family has stated they will not allow an autopsy until the government fulfills their demands.
