3rd International Transport Conference begins today

The Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN)  is kicking off the 3rd International Transport Conference 2025 here today. The conference will run from April 11 to 13.

KATHMANDU, April 11: The Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN)  is kicking off the 3rd International Transport Conference 2025 here today. The conference will run from April 11 to 13.



The SOTEN has joined hands with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Urban Development to organize the event. Dr Hareram Shrestha, President of the Society, said the conference aims to prioritize transport safety and promote policies that ensure sustainable and secure transportation.

The event will bring together transport experts, policymakers, technologists, innovators, and stakeholders to identify effective solutions through collaboration. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on improving the overall transport system and shaping future strategies.


The conference focuses on several key goals: enhancing public transport to make it more accessible, efficient, and eco-friendly; promoting smart transportation through artificial intelligence and intelligent transport systems; and developing resilient infrastructure that can withstand natural disasters, climate change, and other crises.


Organizers believe the conference will play a vital role in making the transport sector safer, more sustainable, efficient, and resilient. They expect it to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, identify policy and operational improvements, and boost Nepal’s transport system to a globally competitive standard.
