23 injured in bus accident in Kavre’s Bhumlu

There were 32 passengers on board at the time of the accident. All 23 injured passengers have been taken to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment. Most of the injured are reported to be in moderate condition, while a few sustained only minor injuries.

KAVRE, July 19: At least 23 passengers were injured when a passenger bus traveling from Ramechhap to Kathmandu met with an accident in Bhumlu Rural Municipality of Kavre on Saturday afternoon.



According to DSP Min Bahadur Ghale, the information officer at the District Police Office, Kavre, the bus (registration number Ba 3 Kha 8408) had departed from Doramba, Ramechhap, bound for Kathmandu. Around 12:20 pm, the bus suffered brake failure and crashed into a roadside wall in ward no. 8 of Bhumlu Rural Municipality, near Pauwa along the inner road section.

There were 32 passengers on board at the time of the accident. All 23 injured passengers have been taken to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment. Most of the injured are reported to be in moderate condition, while a few sustained only minor injuries.


The accident-damaged bus remains at the scene, and the driver is currently in police custody at the Dolalghat police post for further investigation.


The injured passengers include individuals from various districts, primarily Ramechhap and Kavre. Among those in moderate condition are Bhim Bahadur Magar, Number Singh Tamang, and Phul Maya Tamang from Ramechhap; Ram Bahadur Chapagai, Min Bahadur B.K., Subash Tamang, Ram Gautam, Saroj B.K., Dorje Lama, Maiya Budhathoki, and Janak Rijal from Kavre; and Kamal Sunar from Gorkha. Also moderately injured are Suklal Lama and Chet Bahadur Shrestha from Ramechhap. Those who sustained minor injuries include Bhuvan Thapa Magar, Asalman Tamang, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Tara Bahadur Shrestha, and Divya Thapa Magar from Ramechhap; and Nirmala Khatri, Saroj Rasailee, Prakash Gautam, and Maili Tamang from Kavre. The age of the injured ranges from 15 to 78 years.
