KATHMANDU, May 30: Armed police divers safely rescued 22 people trapped in the middle of the Narayani River in Shivghat, Ward 16 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan district.



A broken dam stranded the group on a river island while they were extracting gravel and sand from the Narayani River.

After receiving the information, the Armed Police Force Nepal, 17th Battalion Chitwan, led by Armed Police Inspector Chamanarayan Mahto, deployed a security team with divers who rescued the stranded individuals using a boat.


Meanwhile, the dam break caused a tipper used to transport gravel and sand to sink at the same location.
