KATHMANDU, Sep 13: Ten fringe leftist parties have announced nationwide demonstrations across the country, alleging that people’s sovereignty has been usurped with the dissolution of the parliament on Friday night.
The protests being held under the leadership of Nepal Communist Party (Majority) Dharmendra Bastola, though the time of the demonstration has not yet been fixed.

Along with the Nepal Communist Party (Majority), the Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal, Nepal Communist Party, All Nepal Communist Party, Socialist Communist Party, Workers’ People’s Party Nepal, Greater Nepal Communist Party, CPN (Rebel), CPN (Revolutionary) and Red Force Nepal Marshal had issued a joint statement on Friday.
The statement, released prior to the appointment of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim prime minister, alleged that people’s sovereignty—along with limited rights achieved through the People’s War and the People’s Movement of 2006—had been abducted.
