KATHMANDU, May 6: The country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly and local winds, along with a partial effect of moisture-laden winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
As per the DHM, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of the hilly region and at a few places elsewhere. Light rain and snowfall are also possible in some areas of the mountainous region.

Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas are expected to experience mostly fair to partly cloudy skies.
There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim, and at one or two places in the remaining provinces. Light rain and snowfall are also possible in one or two locations in the mountainous region, the DHM said.
