KATHMANDU, May 7: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramesh Thapa has been appointed as the central spokesperson of Nepal Police.
SSP Thapa, who is currently working at the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has been given the responsibility to communicate the police organization’s public-oriented activities to the media in a factual and transparent manner, according to the Nepal Police Headquarters.

The position had been vacant following the transfer of former spokesperson Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dinesh Acharya to the Gandaki Province. SSP Thapa has now been assigned to the role in his place.
Nepal Police stated that the appointment aims to ensure the effective dissemination of accurate and evidence-based information regarding the organization’s operations and matters of public concern.
