KATHMANDU, Sept 8: CPN (Maoist Center) has expressed sorrow over the death of a youth in police firing during the Gen Z protests.
Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, through a social media post, said the incident had left him shocked and deeply concerned. “I extend my condolences to the youth who lost his life in police firing and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he wrote.

Chairman Dahal urged the government to address the demands raised by Gen Z protesters, including lifting the social media ban and tackling corruption. “The government must take concrete and responsible steps to prevent the situation from further deteriorating,” he appealed.
Gen Z demonstrations have spread to most parts of the country. In Kathmandu’s New Baneshwor area, one protester was killed in police firing, while around 100 people, including journalists, have been injured.
