Gorkha bus accident: Four seriously injured referred to Kathmandu

According to the Ward number 3 chairperson, Rishiram Lamichhane, the number of seriously injured could increase.

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Four seriously wounded among 21 individuals in the bus accident in Gorkha this morning have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment. The condition of the remaining passengers is stable, and they are receiving treatment at a hospital in Arught, Gorkha, police reported.



According to the Ward number 3 chairperson, Rishiram Lamichhane, the number of seriously injured could increase. He added that some of the injured suffered head injuries, broken hands, and cuts from shattered bus windows.

Earlier Tuesday morning, the Gorkha-bound bus (Ba 01-006 Kha 4131) from Kathmandu was involved in an accident in Tariphant, Bhimsem Thapa Rural Municipality-3, leaving 21 of the 22 passengers on board injured.


The police reported that the accident happened after the brake of the bus failed. Further investigation into the case has been underway, said the police.
