Weather Alert: Heavy rainfall likely in Sudurpaschim, Lumbini

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently positioned near its average location, with moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal influencing Nepal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

Skies are expected to remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Moderate rain is likely in some areas of Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, in hilly regions, and at a few places in other Terai regions. The MFD has warned of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi and Sudurpaschim, as well as in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.

By nightfall, skies will remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rain is likely in some parts of Bagmati and Lumbini provinces, in hilly regions, and at a few locations elsewhere. The MFD reports chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali, as well as in the Terai region of Lumbini Province.
